North American Stamping Group Acquires Alex Products

Expansion of automotive seating expertise grows NAFTA footprint
Acquisition set to increase annual revenue by 30%

PORTLAND, TN, Monday, May 14, 2018 – North American Stamping Group (NASG), a leading Tier II automotive stamping and assembly supplier, today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Alex Products (AP) with an effective close date of May 13, 2018.

AP has more than 30 years of experience as a leader in safety critical seat structures and components. Alex Products comprises 1,000 associates, and four facilities totaling 450,000 square feet of space. AP’s three manufacturing facilities are located in Ridgeville Corners, Bryan, and Paulding, Ohio, in addition to a Technical Center in Ridgeville Corners and a sales office in Michigan.

AP’s processes include stamping, wire forming, tube bending, resistance welding, mig welding, automated assembly, e-coating, powder coating, and prototype development.

AP’s Technical Center drives innovative tooling and manufacturing processes to support complex welded assemblies and has extensive product validation that leads to a refined launch process. Various customer awards for quality, delivery and best-in-class performance affirm their capabilities.

“NASG was carefully selected to take Alex Products to new heights. Both companies have been privately owned for over 40 years and have a strikingly similar culture – relationships with customers and employees are indispensable,” said David Von Deylen, Owner, Alex Products. “I am invested in the continued success of Alex Products and look forward to expanding the seating business by utilizing NASG’s expanded geographical footprint as the VP of Seating.”

“We look forward to expanding our customer offering by leveraging AP’s seating expertise through their technical centers—a great complement to our current capabilities,” said Michael Haughey, President & CEO of NASG. “AP is a thriving company, which has little overlap with our current operations, while complementing each other on best practices and core competencies. This acquisition also expands our presence in the NAFTA corridor, which has been one of our goals in reaching new customer segments.”

The combined companies will total ten manufacturing facilities, two technical centers, and one sales office, with more than 1.6 million square feet, 2,000 associates and $450 million in annual sales.
