Scott Whetter, Chief Commercial Officer with NASG was a recipient of the ESGR Patriot Award. Scott was presented his award by Mr. Fred Kaiser, Volunteer with ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve).
Scott was nominated by Ashley Jedinak, Executive Assistant with NASG at our Farmington Hills, MI office. Ashley’s husband, Bryan Jedinak, is an Ensign of the Naval Reserves.
The Patriot Award is the first in a series of Awards by ESGR presented to an individual supervisor at a National Guard or Reserve member’s civilian workplace. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
In addition to receiving the Patriot Award Scott also signed a Statement of Support. This document pledges:
We fully recognize, honor and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).
We will provide our managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
We appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.
We will continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families, in peace, in crises and in war.
Congratulations to Scott Whetter and many thanks to Ashley and Ensign Bryan Jedinak of the Naval Reserves for their military service.
